Travel
Local airports include Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), Dayton International Airport (DAY), Louisville International Airport (SDF), and Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport (LEX).
We recommend a hotel room for Saturday night if you intend to partake of the open bar. You can book a room through the Hyatt web site, although the Hyatt is also available on both Priceline and Hotwire for less expensive rates.
Other downtown hotels within a quick walk from the Hyatt (most of which are also found on Priceline and Hotwire):
- Hilton Terrace (connected to Hyatt via Skywalk)
- Westin (connected to Hyatt via Skywalk, across from Fountain Square)
- Millenium (across the street)
- The Cincinnatian (~ 1-1/2 blocks north)
If you haven’t been to downtown Cincinnati in a while, make sure you check out the newly refurbished Fountain Square area. Around Fountain Square, you can find Morton’s Steakhouse, Boi Na Braza, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood, Palomino’s, Greater’s Ice Cream, Rock Bottom Brewery, Mynt Martini Nightclub and more.
Walk one block north to 6th Street and you’ll find “restaurant row” from which you can access Nada, Cadillac Ranch, the soon-to-open Bartini’s, The Lodge Bar, Jeff Ruby’s, Mr. Sushi, Benihana, Akash Indian and many more, as well as close access to old favorite Nicholson’s.
Craving cocktails? Head one block south from the Hyatt, to 4th Street, and relax at Tonic, purveyor of classic cocktails. You can also zip up to the Cincinnatian to enjoy cocktails and oftentimes live piano music at The Cricket Lounge. Finally, the Hilton Terrace is a historic hotel with an equally historic bar with a healthy respect for classic cocktails.
